Jean Brown has dedicated decades to promoting social change through personal transformation with the international movement Initiatives of Change (IofC). Originally from the UK, and married to an Australian, Jean has lived and worked in India, the USA, South East Asia, and Africa. Alongside her husband, Mike Brown, Jean has been deeply involved in the Australian reconciliation movement with its First Nation’s peoples, especially in the 80s and 90s.
Jean has served as an Elder of IofC, and as an international coordinator of the women’s initiative, Creators of Peace. She is the author of the Creators of Peace Circle methodology, which is now accessible in over 40 countries. Additionally, Jean has written the guide for group conversations titled, ‘Advocating for a new story of our shared humanity’; and has penned numerous articles as well as the booklet ‘A Simple Guide to Remaking the World’.
